Nick Candy Paid This Whooping Sum For Katy Perry to Perform at His Wedding

Million-Pound Performance
Nick Candy, the property tycoon, indirectly revealed to a High court that he had to pay £1.2 million to have Katy Perry perform at his wedding to Holly Valance.

On a price tag suggestion by the opposing side’s barrister, Candy refused to confirm the actual figure and insisted that the price might have been more or less. Candy got married to the former soap actress in 2012, and he insisted that the purported price of £1.2 million wasn’t a reflection of his wider lifestyle. He said it was only a one-off event and isn’t his lifestyle because he won’t be celebrating another marriage.
Million-Pound Lawsuit
Nick Candy and Christian Candy have a lawsuit that cost £132 million against one of their former university friends, Mark Holyoake who claimed that the Candy brothers intimidated his family, blackmailed them and even extorted them over a certain London property deal gone sour. The legal battle shone an unpleasant spotlight on the personal and financial affairs of the Candy brothers.

The Candy brothers are popular for their status as the property developers who handled some of the most lavish homes in the UK such as One Hydra Park. Even at the time when it was to be developed, the price per square foot was higher than that of any other UK property. The brothers have also come under criticism for allegedly manipulating their finances to avoid the payment of tax.
Candy’s Presidential Aspirations
When Candy was being cross-examined by the lawyer to Holyoake, Candy maintained a jovial demeanor and even pointed out similarities between himself and the president of US Donald Trump who also has a name in the property development industry.
He stated that his interior design business was modeled after Trump’s model of licensing and branding in property, noting that his brother’s involvement tilted more towards construction.

While still cross-examining him, Stewart asked if he would consider vying for the post of the US president, but he replied that he isn’t as unpopular as the current president. He added that he could consider running for Governor as his friends who attended the Alfalfa Club Dinner already advised him to become a citizen of the US as it’s only those who are natural born citizens of the US that can become the president.
In the course of the trial, the brothers tried to paint an image indicating that Christian was the wealthier and more successful of the duo. Nick referred to himself as an unsuccessful accountant after he had an early contact at KPMG, but he wasn’t so astute at finance.
Also, it was submitted before the court that the Holyoake family gave the nickname of Clown Candy when they were closer. However, Nick denied knowledge of that nickname, although he admitted that Holyoake used to refer to him as Ricky Butcher.
